Serving The Community
Karen Mcneil is a lifelong resident of Winter Garden. She has raised her children here, owns and operates her business in District 3, and is a tireless advocate for Public Safety, continued Economic Development, and preservation of historic landmarks and buildings.
Karen knows that the voice of the community must be reflective of the entire community. Her decades of living in Winter Garden have equipped her to be on the pulse of the needs of everyone. She is here to work for the community she knows and loves and will remain committed to a focus on the future.
Karen is deeply invested in the Winter Garden community. She is President of Fresh Start Entrepreneurs, Inc., a nonprofit focused on preparing individuals for business ownership. By mentoring new business owners, Karen is fostering a strong local economy and remains committed to making Winter Garden the best place to live for everyone.
Karen has a special passion for children and adults with disabilities. Karen’s youngest daughter has ignited a personal mission to ensure that people of all abilities find purpose for themselves. As the owner of Mcneil’s Adult Daycare, she ensures her clients know they are valued, loved, and appreciated. They participate in activities that develop life skills, fostering independence in a safe, fun environment.
Karen has always been instrumental in identifying opportunities to bridge gaps in the community and increase community building, and Public Safety. Some of the initiatives she has developed include:
- Parenting Classes
- Installation of Speed Bumps
- Youth Programming with a focus on skill and talent development
- Single Mothers in a Learning Environment (SMILE) – GED preparation and fostering community by serving.
Karen is also a Board Member of Voxpopuli, a West Orange County community media outlet.
Karen is the proud mother of two daughters and grandmother to one. She is Winter Garden Proud and ready to ELEVATE!
